Personal Info
My logo or ‘personal symbol’ represents my international background. I am Dutch and was raised in the Netherlands where I obtained a Bachelor Degree in Education. In Holland, I taught Dutch Language and Social Studies to adults and High School students. During my studies, I held a series of administrative positions and became familiar with a variety of popular software applications in the work place during the mid eighties.
In 1987 I traveled to California and as the Eagle’s song “Hotel California” states:
“You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave,” I fell in love with the state and Southern California became my primary residence. After having spent almost half my life in Holland and half in Los Angeles, my foot prints are in both areas, as my logo represents. The binary numbers in the background represent my line of work and symbolize switching between languages.
In Los Angeles I worked for many years in business administration and obtained my MBA in International Business. In the mid nineties, I combined my software knowledge with my passion for teaching, and entered the technology field as an IT trainer and consultant. I acquired my California teaching credentials for computer software and hardware as well as a series of industry certifications.
For family reasons since late 2012, I have spent more time overseas, in the Netherlands, and I moved back to the Netherlands in the spring of 2017. Early 2013, I started paying golf. What I really like about this sport is that you only compete with yourself to improve your game instead of against others, thanks to the Stable ford scoring system and that with every hole you get a new chance to play well or start over……The Dutch meaning of the word “golf” is “wave” and I am finding that “golf” is as a “wave“; it goes up and down, as a “golf” or ‘tide’ movement.
Besides playing, I developed several Excel spreadsheets for golf to keep track of score, rank players, determine winners, and to manage the scheduling of recurring golf competitions. You will find a sample of my work in my portfolio. If you or your club is seeking assistance in this matter, please feel free to contact me.
